Christmas music playing, lights twinkling, our little girls in their Christmas jammies, we were decorating the Christmas tree together as a family. Everything looked perfect as we were decorating the Christmas tree, but it didn’t feel perfect. I looked around and felt like something, no SOMEONE was missing. As I reflected, I realized that when I think of the holidays, I envision a full table-children, their birth families, anyone in need of a place to belong and be welcomed. After some time, I brought it up to Jon. We took time individually and together and realized our new dream for our family: another child in our family and his or her birth family to love and welcome into our family.
After three long adoption processes and bringing our 3rd daughter, Eleanor home through adoption, we thought we were done and we let our home study expire. We began working with Strong Families and hosting children. Through that, God began to work in our hearts and created in us, unknowingly, a new dream for our family. After three adoptions, a pandemic, and a job change, we were not anticipating pursuing another adoption, however, as we often tell our girls, “plans are plans and plans change.”
Shortly after the New Year holiday in January 2023, we contacted Nightlight Christian Adoptions to get our home study updated. 4 months later and here we are once again! It’s been a whirlwind- from social worker visits, to piles and piles of paperwork, to getting our profile book put together, to applying for adoption grants all while parenting our 3 sweet girls. We are so grateful to be able to walking through a 4th adoption process- we know that we would not be where we are today without the support of each one of you.
We cannot complete another adoption on our own. Once again we are fully relying on your love, prayers and financial support. Our adoption video and fund can be found HERE. Thank you for your kind words, prayers and love. We cannot wait to see how the next part of our journey unfolds. Thank you for being here!
Cheers to another adoption process and season of waiting! -Jon & Jenn
