We are so incredibly thankful for everyone who has been so supportive of us during this journey. I wanted to keep everyone updated on what has been going on since we were approved to be on the waiting list on April 17th. A few big things have happened that I will post about later on, but here is a brief report: Jon was ordained in May, I joined a mom’s group from our church (even though I don’t have a baby yet they let me join!) and we bought our first baby items, a pack n play and a glider chair.
As far as smaller things going on recently, we are trying to enjoy this journey. We are waiting and trying to wait well. To us this means being open and honest with how we are really doing, living life despite the huge amounts of excitement and anticipation for the next step of the process, and doing our best to trust that God will provide for all of our needs. It is so easy to get anxious and sit around just waiting to get a phone call from our agency, or to wonder why it is so easy for some people to have children when I can’t. Some days are better than others. So, thank you for your patience with us, as I’m sure our emotions have been up and down.
We have received so many wonderful hand me downs and unexpected gifts from our family and friends. Even though we have absolutely no idea when we could get a call from our agency, we are starting to feel a little bit more prepared for what’s ahead. If you have any parenting book recommendations or a favorite baby item you have used, I would love to hear about it! I have been trying to spend my time this summer researching, reading, and delving into the craziness of all things baby.
